Rationale
You find translations annoying? And then you also have to edit the PDF file? What might have been your kryptonite in the past is now done in a snap. Just ask Brian so that he gladly can take over this tedious task.
Scope
Brian supports different formats to meet your unique needs and requirements:
- Input formats: pdf, png, jpg, jpeg, tif, gif
- Output formats: docx, xlsx, pptx
- Note: if you do not provide the output format, Brian converts the files to MS Word.
Brian translates your files to more than 100 languages… You can have a look here, to get an overview of supported formats and languages for translation.
Please consider that the translation quality depends on the language pair, wording, and content domain.
Source
Conversion:
- In case of native PDFs (created digitally) the conversion is executed by a library running on our servers
- In case of scanned PDFs and pictures (using Optical Character Recognition – OCR) the provider is ABBYY
Translation:
- The translation from/to the following languages is performed by Deepl: Bulgarian, Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, French, Finnish, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian.
- The translation from/to all other languages is performed by Professional Google Translate APIs.
- If you don’t state the source language, language detection and translation might be performed by Professional Google Translate APIs.
Trouble?
For troubleshooting, consider the following:
- Please share with Brian the actual file – not a link (e.g. to sharepoint), Brian has no access to your file system
- The translation works also if you don’t name the source language, but this might have a negative impact on the translation quality
- If you don’t mention the target language, your file will be translated into English
- Please attach one document only. If you need the same file translated to multiple languages, send Brian multiple emails
- Files having characters like % \ / : * ? ” < > | # in their file names are not supported on MS Teams
- Brian translates files up to 10 MB – so split your file, if necessary
- Sometimes there are pictures in the files causing trouble – usually, these are the pictures on the title slide and other weird pictures – you can split the file then or delete the pictures
- We reserve the right to restrict access to Brian in case of excessive use
